The Role:

We are seeking a Network Engineer that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment.  This person will assist with design, implementation, troubleshooting, analyzing, and maintaining networks across the enterprise. The candidate will also be responsible for the daily support of enterprise network components; including network security and vendor communications.  Ensure access to network systems, customer sites, SaaS platforms, and maximizing network infrastructure efficiency through performance monitoring, managing resource usage, implementation of upgrades, diagnostics and troubleshooting and have the ability to configure, test and maintain network equipment and related services including OS patches/software upgrades.  In addition, the candidate should be comfortable interfacing with technical team members across organisational departments. 

 

How you'll contribute:

  • Provides support in all aspects of routing, switching, security, and load balancing using technologies including Cisco/F5/Juniper/Palo Alto/Fortigate/NetScout
  • Assist with maintaining comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Assist with security audit discussions and address any questions related to firewalls and other network equipment
  • Performs analysis for performance and capacity
  • Identifies diagnoses and resolves network problems (alerts and trouble tickets)
  • Participates in a “follow the sun” on-call rotation as needed
  • Possesses demonstrated understanding and use of tools / processes used in this position
  • Relates effectively to people across all levels, including leaders, peers, and other team members
  • Manages responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their work product (e.g. development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements)
  • Proactively and consistently raises and reports on design deficiencies and product/operational/project risks 

 

What will make you successful: 

  • Experience with network design, install, configuration/provisioning and troubleshooting 
  • Experience with SNMP monitoring tools
  • Experience with BGP and other routing protocols
  • Experience with routers, firewalls, switches, IEEE 802.1x, VPN, wireless access points, remote access, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, SMTP concepts
  • Knowledge of MPLS networks over Ethernet and TDM transport, remote access VPN, site to site VPN, and dynamic multipoint VPN configuration
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting F5 LTM and other Load Balancers
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA, Juniper, Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls
  • Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well organized, and able to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize and remain calm in a high-pressure atmosphere
  • Ability to plan and deliver projects using leading-edge technology
  • Must have a great customer support attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a quick learner who embraces change
  • Must be available during evening and weekend hours to provide scheduled and non-scheduled 24x7 on-call support
  • Prior experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Simplifies complex business problems to help engineering team conduct root cause analysis
  • Proven experience in capabilities or tools associated with a role (e.g. Java, Project Management tool etc)
  • Experience with automation and scripting is a plus 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Four or more years hands-on networking experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relevant experience
