About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Platform to lead one of the most critical engineering groups at Highspot. This team is responsible for architecting, building and running the foundational resources and infrastructure upon which Highspot is built. This includes our Kubernetes-based deployment platform which makes it simple and easy for engineers to ship enterprise-grade services at scale at Highspot. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in driving Highspot’s long-term technology vision and platform strategy, while also ensuring day-to-day operational excellence. You will lead a team of highly skilled engineers, provide technical direction, collaborate across product and infrastructure organizations, and ensure that our infrastructure platform can meet the growing scale and intelligence needs of our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a team of engineers, inspiring and motivating your team to do their best work.  As we continue building our Infrastructure Platform, this will include regularly jumping in to help with coding and design.
  • Bring your technical expertise to the evolution of Highspot’s software; ensure that our architecture and stack are optimized to keep pace with the demands of hyper-growth; position your product area (and support adjacent product areas) for continued high-availability and reliability across multiple worldwide data centers.
  • Build out our Kubernetes Platform that allows teams to ship services reliably and at scale. Define the abstraction layer that provides the right balance between flexibility and simplicity at an enterprise level.
  • Consistently deliver a product that maximizes quality, security, and reliability. Build and maintain highly observable systems with excellent metrics and actionable alerts
  • Collaborate with key partners in your product area and senior leadership. Ensure decisions are communicated effectively within and outside of your team with all stakeholders
  • Attract, grow, mentor and guide the professional and technical development of the engineers on your team. Enforce accountability through relevant, and objective performance targets and timely feedback and coaching

Your Background

  • At least 5+ years of experience managing infrastructure teams.
  • Strong technical experience with managing and running Kubernetes clusters and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with IaC technologies such as Terraform or Pulumi and CI/CD systems such as BuildKite, ArgoCD and GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience developing and scaling cloud-native applications and frameworks
  • Proven success as a partner and collaborator who prioritizes the success of the team over individual aspirations
  • Experience with greenfield development and successfully taking a new product from conception to launch
  • Understanding of the SDLC for SaaS applications and previous experience designing and building software products at scale
  • Deep understanding of reliability, observability, operational excellence, and cost optimization in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for developing people and building strong, healthy engineering teams.

Base salary range: $167,000 - $290,000. Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.
The above represents total expected compensation for this role. Actual compensation will depend on various job-related factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, and job qualifications.
